Started in Tennessee the production of the Leaf for the US market
Nissan officially started production of the second generation of the Leaf for the North American market at the Smyrna plant, Tennessee. The car will be available in US dealerships starting in January.
Leaf has been assembled at the Smyrna plant since 2013 and the EV local sales volumes have reached 114,500 units since the launch in 2011.
The factory, inaugurated in 1983 and from which more than 12 million vehicles have already been released, also builds Altima, Maxima, Pathfinder, Rogue and Infiniti QX60.
In addition to Tennessee, Leaf is also produced at the British plant in Sunderland and at the Japanese factory in Yokosuka, Oppama prefecture.
