A PART OF MARELLI
Magneti Marelli Powertrain has 11 production plants located on 4 different continents.
The capillarity of the production lines on a global level makes it possible to be close to the carmaker anywhere in the world, in order to meet all sorts of needs in a quicker and more effective manner.
The production processes adopted comply with high industrial standards at all plants, thus ensuring the same levels of quality throughout the world. This is possible thanks to constant investments in technology and innovation of the production processes, and to the application of the best manufacturing technologies, the result of a know-how consolidated through the years.
In order to always be in step with the needs of the market, Magneti Marelli has set up a production structure that can quickly adapt the plant outputs to the customers’ requests, which can sometimes change quickly, both in terms of technical specifications and volumes.
The concept of “learning organization” is a central issue in production management; in fact, through the gradual application of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards, Magneti Marelli constantly improves its performances in terms of quality, flexibility and competitiveness, always aiming at industrial innovation.
Magneti Marelli develops the product starting from the vehicle application and mission profiles defined by the customer, integrating the prototyping and validation phases with industrialization best practices which are then adapted to the specific product. Moreover, the integration of electronic and mechanical skills available within the organization allows the development of cutting-edge mechatronic products and the ability to supply complete engine control systems.
Magneti Marelli constantly invests in certain “core” activities, such as foundry, moulding and the design of line-end testing machinery in order to be able to control the technology and verify the reliability of the components.
The high level of automation at the Magneti Marelli production plants ensures excellent qualitative standards: in fact, the advanced technological level of the mechanics combines high production rates with high accuracy, for excellent final products.
